QKS Earns CNCF Kubernetes Certification (CK)
QUANTUM C&S’s managed Kubernetes platform, QKS, has obtained the CNCF Cloud Native
Computing Foundation).
What is CNCF Kubernetes Certification (CK)?
CNCF Kubernetes Certification (CK) is a certification that verifies a product complies with official Kubernetes standards and functions correctly in the same way as Kubernetes.
This certification, which is verified directly by the CNCF and listed in a public repository, holds practical significance in ensuring compliance with procurement requirements and compatibility with existing Kubernetes toolchains.
The CNCF categorizes certifications into four types based on product form, and QKS has obtained certification in the “Hosted” category, which covers managed services.
Product Overview
QKS is a multi-tenant, managed Kubernetes platform developed by QUANTUM C&S, designed for on-premises enterprise environments.
Users can utilize a fully managed Kubernetes cluster without having to operate or maintain the control plane themselves.
No need to manage the Control Plane yourself
QKS handles all Control Plane operations necessary to maintain the stability of the cluster—such as VelerO backups, API server scaling, certificate renewal, and version compatibility checks.
Users don’t have to worry about these details and can focus solely on the workloads running on top of the cluster.
A service that eliminates the most difficult part of “adopting Kubernetes”
The real challenge in adopting Kubernetes isn’t installing the cluster, but the ongoing operations that follow—such as version upgrades, fault tolerance, and permission management.
QKS is a fully managed service where QUANTUM C&S takes on the entire operational burden.
Why is “standard compliance despite being managed” important?
Managed services are structured in such a way that users cannot directly inspect the control plane.
As a result, even if a vendor makes minor changes to the standard for convenience, users often don’t notice.
This CK certification means that the CNCF has personally verified that, even though QKS includes convenience features such as one-click upgrades, GPU node pools, and private network deployments, the underlying cluster operates 100% identically to standard Kubernetes.
